FM40 Style- J Crew Cheesecloth Stripe Shirt
Shirt, J Crew / Jeans, Zara / Boots, Russell & Bromley / Bag, Gucci (very old)
I recently had on backorder the white bib front shirt from J Crew after admiring it on Laura from WIT and then after my MIH oversized shirt realisation (that I didn't suit it) I emailed J Crew and asked them to cancel my order. The button front looked quite stiff and I like to have a little décolleté on show when wearing shirts, it has a slimming effect if you are large busted like myself and the reviews said this was hard to do, particularly due to the stiffness. I love this picture of Laura on holiday in Italy last year wearing her J Crew blue striped tunic shirt and as you know I am going for a blue theme this year, so, I ordered the above blue cheesecloth shirt instead.

This shirt is made of lovely cheesecloth, I do love cheesecloth in the summer. It is very reminiscent of shirts from the 70s, which the likes of Charlie's Angels used to wear and my mum and it also is similar to the blue stripe shirts Isabel Marant did a few seasons back. It is perfect to wear day to day like I have above and this is how I plan to wear it on holiday with denim cut offs. Plus the softness of the material I can easily fold back to have a little décolleté on show.

If you would like a total bargain copy of the Isabel Marant Etoile Layne stripe shirt from a few seasons back, check this one out, not bad is it for £14?

I love this look on you Annemarie. Blue and white always looks so summery especially in cheesecloth. Took a quick look at the M&Co one, what a fab bargain...Hmm'n maybe tempted again!

Hi Helen, it is a great little copy of the IM lane shirt isn't it. x
DeleteI'm not a big fan of cheesecloth but love this shirt on you. Might need to rethink! Lorraine x
ReplyDeleteIt is a really nice shirt and I do have a fondness for cheesecloth, I think it's the 70s child in me. x
