FM40 Style - My Summer Sale Buys

Top, Chinti & Parker / Jeans, MIH THE PARIS New Original Wash NOW £122.50 / Shoes, R&B

I did say at the end of May I was going to have a 3 month spending ban, but come July 4 weeks of not buying anything sent me into a tizz and I couldn't resist some things that I had on my wish list and radar that were now in the sales. 

I have already owned up to my Chinti & Parker top and my MIH paris jeans that I am wearing above. 

But there maybe more .... yes, I have another 3 items to confess too! Firstly, a Monica Vinader friendship bracelet, I have been wanting one of them for ages! The khaki colour was half price at £37.50, I must admit it would have not been my initial choice of cord colour, but once it arrived I really liked it and it complements my watch very nicely.



Second confession...... remember my winter sale wardrobe essentials edit were I advised to only buy wardrobe staple items in the sale, well this next item is such, plus it was on my spring/summer wish list.

J.CREW SCHOOLBOY BLAZER

Yes, it's the J.Crew Schoolboy Blazer in navy. It was reduced in the regular fitting and I spotted it by chance after searching for something else. I am delighted with it, perfect length for myself, no need for the arms to be shortened plus the quality is excellent. I am so looking forward to wearing this in September, when blazers are required.

That was me done, all spent up, then I had the saga of the paint damaged andOtherStories blouse. Hubby offered to replace it and I was on Urban Outfitters like lightning ordering the Little White Lies Rikki Blouse that I had my eye on that was now half price in the sale...... Yeah size M still available click add to basket.... done....... Complete check out...... done......... Thank you for your order. Then, heartbreak, two days later, your order has been cancelled due to none availability. Not to be deterred I checked, yes no longer showing M in stock but they still had L.  Knowing Hubby's Paypal info I ordered the L, next day another email, yes you can guess no L left either! So I was left empty-handed and Hubby has two £45 pending on his Paypal, funds will not available in his account for up to 30 days, he is not impressed. Neither am I... I am a boho top down, so doing the ironing, I had a lightbulb moment the white lace top Marlene & Susie So So were raving about. Onto Marlene's Blog, there it is the Love Sam lace blouse......ah not in the sale, but with Hubby's £45 contribution, it's not that bad....is it???

 

Yes I did and I love it!!! Sorry for fold marks,  it had just arrived and I had to let you see my new favourite top, you see everything happens for a reason! 

  • Shopbop have it back in stock in all sizes, I am a size 10/12 on top and I went for the size M. If you are a perfect 10 a S would be perfect.



So I have imposed a spending ban for August, I have got to ........... my sale purchases plus N's school uniform have wiped me out and left Hubby's account up the wall. The other thing being, I am thinking forward to all things A/W and my wish list is growing each day!

    I couldn't stop thinking about you when you were away with the sales starting, but I think you made up for it! I am also on a ban for August, that leaves me tonight to get sorted for my holiday and more swimwear but nothing I like is cheap enough - so annoying! Love that top! x

      I think I more than made up for it, haven't I?! Good swimwear is expensive, but then again you have expensive taste, have you tried Coco bay, they sometimes have good seafolly ex seasons stock cheap.

      Me too, I tried to be sensible, I used to be terrible in sales I would buy designer stuff just because it was reduced by 70% it was often reduced that much for a reason. They would then just sit in my wardrobe till I put them on the bay.

    I have that Love Sam top but in the black! They sold out of both colours for a while but I spotted last week that they were back in stock again - lucky you! I put together a post about it but never got round to finishing it off - thanks for the reminder!

    That is so annoying when you're money is taken and the order isn't fulfilled. So by my calculations your hubby is down 3 lots of £45 until he gets his 2 refunds!! Anyway, great purchases, that little top is gorgeousness personified. We can hold hands together and not spend a penny (literally, I don't mean we can't go for a wee) xx

    Grrr just left a comment and my broadband dipped....

    Really annoys me when retailers take the money and don't honour the sale. Love your purchases though especially that little top. By my calculations your husband is down 3 lots of £45 until he gets his refunds - whoops.

    Lovely top, you did well against your spring wish list. No more summer spending for me, with our impending departure for Switzerland I'm stocking up on m&s cashmere and sufficient winter clothes for my son! Goodness knows what I'll do there, everything is ridiculously expensive! Duty free when coming home all the way I think! Jo x

      Thanks for both comments, I realised I'd asked the nail polish question twice, hence my deleted question! Is it quite a coral/orange red? Thanks also for the French suggestions, we're going to be south of Zurich so nearer Germany or Italy, I think I'm going to have to be a fan of H&M! x

    Annoying isn't it when things sell out! I really love the chinti and Parker top you bought and kept dithering over which size , by the time I'd decided they were all gone.... Grr!

    Lovely sales purchases and the blazer is such a classic addition! I've had to sit on my hands not to get the Chinti & Parker top - love it but just have too many Bretons!

    AnnMarie, the white and black Love Sam tops are my most worn summer tops by far. I've had so many people stopped me to ask where I got them. I wish I got the black top in medium as I prefer the longer length. Oh well... Kudos to dear old eagle eyed Eileen for spotting them. I've been wearing the same Monica Vinader Bali bracelet since I got it. I can't believe how reasonably it was at the sale.

      I wore it for this first time on Sunday with jeans - love it! Looking forward for our holiday next year to wear with denim cuff offs like to did in Greece. Yes big thanks to Eileen :) I will be checking Monica Vinader's next sale.
