FM40 Style - My Quest For New Leopard Shoes

My daily watch for returns paid off and I got a size 37 ...... I was so excited for their arrival, due to their similarity to the Chloe Lauren flats.

However, I was left disappointed... why?

I have never tried the Chloe scalloped ballet flats on, so I don't know how they particularly fit and cannot compare. However, the Boden version, gape when you walk ..... I have tried my best to show how, above. It could just be the shape of my feet, but I also didn't like that the scalloped edging was white and could be seen. When reading the reviews online there are few negative points regarding the same two problems. I was so crest fallen because my expectations were very high when they arrived. So, they have been returned and I have yet to purchase anything yet for the new season ahead!

My search for new leopards flats continues.... I have a picture pinned to my Pinterest-Looks I love, of Elle Macpherson in her leopard tassel flats, which got me thinking.

This style is more suited to winter and looks amazing with rolled up denim like Elle has styled hers.

As anybody else purchased Boden's scalloped ballerina shoes? Have you encountered the same problems or were you lucky and they fitted your feet correctly....unlike mine? What do you think of my change in direction?

Thank you for reading and I always appreciate your comments,

p.s If you fancy the Moda in Pelle ones they have 15% off for new customers quoting NEWCUST here .....be quick it ends midnight Monday 22nd of September.

  3. I see what you mean about the white showing. It's made them look a little granny-ish hasn't it x

  4. Oh such a shame and as expected I like the most expensive of your tassle pics, Elle looks fab, I need a pair! Not sure whether to keep my Boden embellished pumps, a heart ruled head purchase I could probably live without x

    1. I know the R&B ones are fab aren't they. I like the Boden ones (I would only wear them totally dressed down with denim) but on the otherhand I think they are a little OTT pearly queen-ish?? Tough call honey? X

  5. I'm trying to find some new leopard print flats, love the Russell and Bromley ones but not willing to pay £295 for them, really like the Moda in Pelle fillies as i really like the idea of a splash of red on them. very tempted to give them a try. x

    1. Yes £295 don't mind paying that for boots but not a pair of flats, but they are gorgeous. I prefer the fillies due to the red trimming. X

    2. I have ordered a pair with the discount, hoping they will be a good replacement for my worn out leopard print flats. x

  6. Oh dear. I returned a pair of shoes just recently because they gaped as well as I walked - it's not just you. And I have spotted the edging/lining showing through on some shoes as well which really spoils the look on them - all bad finishing in my eyes. But how disappointing. But yes, the slipper ones look good going in to autumn ... which reminds me, I need to do the shoe switchover and dig out my my Kooples slipper which I got earlier on in the year!

    1. The Mode In Pelle are very much like the R&B ones and Italian loafers but a lot cheaper.

  10. I love those R&B ones but I agree I would at a push pay £300 for a pair if winter boots but a wee bit too expensive for shoes....but they are gorgeoussss! X

  12. That is such a shame but I much prefer the slipper style as like you say they are much more practical for the colder months! I hope you get a pair soon as they would be so useful! Ax
