FM40 Style - My Superga Dilemma

This dilemma all started with this post from Fran really, I absolutely loved her chic school run outfit of breton top, jeans and her new silver Superga. I haven't jumped on the white trainer bandwagon nor the skater shoe one, but I suppose a casual trainer will be invaluable for the school run on the milder upcoming mornings.  Yes I have my NBs and a pair of old metallic gold Ash, but I would like something new really. I was going to get a pair of classic converse, until I saw Fran, now the Superga has my vote, but what colour should I opt for? Let us see what may work.

Firstly, the silver ones like Fran, which will go with most things I own.

If you are a regular reader you may know I have a soft spot for leopard and especially Isabel Marant's leopard bart trainers, the Superga also come in a leopard print. Which will work lovely with some things I own.

Then we have classic navy .....

Are you a fan of the Superga trainer, if you were me, which colour would you go for???

  1. Leopard!
I love Superga but can't wear them as they are too wide on the heel and my feet fall out - boo hoo! Going to buy some flat black converse instead to emulate Clara the Working Girl!

  2. I have grey NB and have ordered the classic white/green SSs to try. If they don't work then I will look at the superga definitely. Leopard or navy for me out of your choices 😊. Roll on next week when I get to try on all my Easter purchases! xx

  3. I think you need all three. I am no help. I would go for the silver but that is only because I already have some leopard skate shoes from Ash. If you haven't got any leopard I think they would be most versatile, for you, as they would go with any of the looks. Having said that they all go with each other. As I say, no help at all. H xx

  5. Decisions, decisions Annmarie! I'm not going to be any help either as I would want all 3, I think the silver would be the most useful for me but the leopard ones are also a good neutral and the navy is a classic too! xx

  6. Leopard! I was going to order a pair of Stan smiths but since Fran's post I've fallen for the Superga in Leopard. They seem less bulky. I think the leopard will go with lots of outfits. Happy choosing! J x

    1. Navy is such a classic, I was going to go for navy converse, until I was tempted by the superga.

  8. Leopard. I've always had a soft spot for that small leopard print. It's not as in your face as some of the larger prints.

    1. It looks a cute little print, however, I am unsure about it because it looks like black and blue, I would rather Black and Tan, picky as I am with my leopard. X

    1. It is fab, no I dont (only because I have my summer khaki parka from mango last year) but if I was in the market for a new one, this one would be my first choice. X

    2. Well I have just ordered it so hope it works out. Now do I need the leopard print shoes too?

  11. Yes, I need to try the skaters, I have been slightly scared of them really. X

  12. I love Superga so much. I have three pairs - White, green and dark brown. I love them! I love the navy ones personally - I think they're so versatile and would go so well with your wardrobe. Lynne xx

  13. Thanks so much for the mention AnnMarie, I was soooo torn between the leopard white and silver. I would like all three I also bought the platform ones although I think they are too heavy and will rub a bit! You will look stunning in any of the choice! Happy choosing, Fran xxxx

    1. You are welcome, I think you picked well with the silver. They go really well with your pastel colours you have in your wardrobe. X

  14. I found Superga too clumpy for my skinny ankles/lower legs. Converse are better but my absolute favourite are Spanish brand Victoria Plimsolls - what I love most is no laces as I have got very lazy since wearing my lovely Ash wedge sneakers. I do recommend Victoria Plimsolls they are gorgeous and come in every colour you could think of. Emma x

    1. Never heard of them, I will check them out. I have had converse in the past and just fancied a change, but converse never date. Thank you! X

  15. I've been considering the silver Superga ones, too! Dazzled to see your post now. While I love a touch of leopard print (I have the same Scarosso loafers with the red tassle that you have, too - no, I'm not your stalker) I'm not really crazy about the leopard print Superga version. I think the thing that makes the Isabel Marant version so stunning is the fact that it's haircalf and that the print is much bigger and I think it's tan/brown as opposed to the black in Superga.
I know IM is so much more expensive, but I'd rather go for the Boden leopard skater slip-ons then, they're haircalf, too.
I myself am undecided between the silver and gold Superga trainers. I think Alexa Chung is wearing the gold version in Fran's post. Hmm...might have to get both

    1. Yes the calf hair give a more luxury look. I ordered two pairs to choose from and I will let you know tomorrow. The Boden skater shoes I had been pondering over for months and guess what sold out in 37 now!! X
