FM40 FASHION FRIDAY FINDS | ME TIME

JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. C L I C K  T O  S H O P Strange times call for you to look after yourself, be it exercise, eating healthy and above all being kind to your self and others.  I know I feel (a look!) a whole lot better, if I put a little bit of make up on. So, today I thought I would share my beauty favourites for my Friday Finds. I haven't done a beauty post for a while and since my last one I have changed a lot of the things I use. FACE  Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturiser - I presently use this in medium and it's a tinted moisturiser I have used off and on for years. I always seem to come back to this one. Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder - I also love this as a tinted moisturiser and may. The shades I normally wear are 4 and 4.5 in the summer if I have a tan. This is fabulous underneath and can be worn on its own for a natural glow. Nars Creamy Concealer - I hav...

FM40 CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE | DEAR SANTA .... I HAVE BEEN A VERY GOOD GIRL

JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. Ah my Christmas wishlist ....... as MR FM40 and I have decided not to exchange gifts this year and the kids pocket money maybe not stretch to most things on my list  - this is for you mum and Father Christmas himself, of course. I always love a scented candle, this one has to be my favourite. Although I do love the gift packaging of this brand . Perfume, normally a Chanel girl (Mademoiselle or 5 L'eau) but this reminds me of happy and fun work trips to Paris. A little bit of luxury skincare would be bliss and my favourite brand has to be Elemis, I ran out of my pro-marine cream and couldn't quite stretch to buying another jar. So, I purchased this instead which I have to say I personally see no major difference between the two and the cheaper option seems to suit my dehydrated skin better.  In the wardrobe department, a new dress for Christmas day would be pe...

FM40 BEAUTY | MAKING EVERY MINUTE COUNT WITH ELEMIS (PART 2)

Image
MAKING EVERY MINUTE COUNT I was so excited when Elemis approached me to try their new Peptide 24/7 range which has been devised to be time efficient as they are effective. In my first blog post I had been using the products about two weeks and now further on I am still pretty impressed.   A little update for you ....... Firstly I tried the Peptide4 Adaptive Day Cream , which adapts to your skin's needs throughout the day, keeping oily patches at bay, while minimising the appearance of pores and uneven skin texture. It is a featherlight cream, with a mousse like texture that delivers an instant burst of cooling hydration, it creates a soft-focus effect and blurs the look of fine lines and wrinkles .... sounds just what I needed! You only need a small amount to cover your whole face and it works beautifully under your make up..... very much like a moisturising primer. Two products in one, saving your money and time .... win, win! F A C I A L ...

FM40 BEAUTY | MAKE EVERY MINUTE COUNT WITH ELEMIS

M A K E   E V E R Y   M I N U T E   C O U N T Do you have time to really give yourself some self care and look after your skin?  We are all so busy these days often putting work, household chores and looking after our loved ones before even thinking about ourselves. I am so guilty of this and I am ashamed to admit I often put scrolling through Instagram before looking after my skin. Recently, I have been experiencing disturbed sleep, which is new thing for me (sadly I think is an age thing) and my skin is looking tired, dull and dehydrated. I would like and need a skincare regime that is simple, effective and that is not that time consuming because let's face it every minute counts in our hectic lifestyles. Ideally, I would love to put on a decent night cream to make my skin look like I have had 8 hours sleep the next morning. I am pleased to report I may I just found my dream skin care duo with Elemis Peptide4 Adaptive Day Cream  and Plu...

FM40 CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDES | BEAUTY, CANDLES & FRAGRANCE

Image
JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. CLICK PRODUCTS TO SHOP I think my beauty wish list is endless, but if had to make a top 5 then it would be; 1.  Sisley Black Rose Mask The ultimate mask apparently. Expensive, but users say it's worth every penny, within ten minutes you're left with a beautiful glowing skin. 2. Oribe Dry Styling Gift Set I have a lot of fine hair that is neither straight nor curly and as a result too many bad hair days. A good dry shampoo and/or a texturing spray would give me more good hair days than bad says my hairdresser and Oribe's texturing spray is the best!  Once you've tried it you won’t go back to the cheaper alternatives as nothing feels better than having a good hair day! 3.  Neom Christmas Wish Candle A beautiful scented candle .... I am not overly fussy, Jo Malone, Neom, The White Company and Diptyque  are all my favourites. 4.  Anya Hindmar...

FM40 BEAUTY | PERFECT7 RENEWAL

Image
LOOKING THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS AT THE VISIBLE SIGNS OF AGEING  I have recently been working with Seven Seas who I have worked with before on their True Age campaign. This time I was really, really excited as it was to trial their new 'Perfect7 Renewal Advanced', which contains ceramosides™for 60 days, which have been scientifically proven to reduce the appearance of wrinkles in 60 days. Yes, wrinkles reduced in just 60 days* so you can understand my excitement. Especially, as I am in my mid 40s and look at myself in the mirror and visibly notice my skin sadly ageing. As the years go by our skin undergoes a number of changes, it doesn't retain as much moisture in part due to the loss of Ceramides. The collagen and elastin in the middle layer can begin to break down and a result can be that our skin becomes less firm and less elastic. When gravity tugs on the skin, instead of bouncing back it sadly starts to sag like an old elastic band. Fine lines a...

FM40 BEAUTY | A FEW MAKE-UP BAG UPDATES

Image
MAKE-UP JUNKIE I had slowly been replenishing my make up bag with old favourites and it feels and looks better.  The brand I have had a long time love affair with is Bobbi Brown and a new love for Nars, because I can't live without two of their products.  You may have noticed I did my stories video on Tuesday with my sunnies on when there was not even a sun ray in the sky ..... it was because I had no eyeliner on and I look awful without it. The eyeliner I swear by is Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner  .... I would say this is the next best thing to semi-permanate make up .... it doesn't budge! I could do a long 12 hour flight and it would be still there, the only down side is that the pot can sometimes dry out if you don't keep it in dark place and do not tighten the top on properly after use. So, I will be making sure I will remember to do those  two things this time because I have tried other eyeliners recently and nothing comes close to i...

FM40 BEAUTY | WHAT'S IN MY MAKE UP BAG (Updated)

Image
Make up I can't live without it, as I don't look good au naturel ...  Here are some current favourites I am using now, together with items that are forever faithfuls.  M Y  B A S E  After, I have cleansed and moisturised I will apply a little concealer where needed ..... definitely under my eyes where I have some discolouring, around my nose where I have noticed with age I have some redness and any breakouts which again happen more often as I am getting older. The concealer I swear by is Nars Creamy Concealer .... I use honey which brightens up my under eye area.  I will then apply some foundation just mainly on my T-Zone and I carefully blend it in. I like a light coverage with a little dewy finish and I find tinted moisturisers work best for me, I have recently been using Charlotte Tilbury light foundation (in Fair 4) ..... I like it, but not as much as  Bobbi Brown tinted moisturiser  (I use medium) or other old favourite ...

FM40 LIFESTYLE | AGE IS JUST A NUMBER - #TRUEAGE WITH SEVEN SEAS

Image
M A N A G E  A G E I N G  You may remember that I have recently been taking part in  an experiment for   Seven Seas to highlight the importance of Omega-3 in your diet for the Seven Seas live your #TRUEAGE campaign. At the beginning of the experiment my Omega-3 level was measured, by taking a small blood sample through a simple finger prick test. This was then used to calculate a percentage of Omega-3 fatty acids in my body's blood cell. The higher the index, the more Omega-3 you have in your body, which is beneficial in supporting your overall health including normal heart function, normal vision, normal bone and normal brain function.   My Omega-3 level was  above the threshold of concern ( my full results can be seen here) but there was room for  improvement  and to do this, I took a daily   Seven Seas Cod Liver Oil Maximum Strength Capsule    (available at Boots on the 3 for 2 offer  here ). Seven Seas Cod Liv...
